UPPER HANOVER TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

WORKSHOP MEETING MINUTES OF AUGUST 11, 2008

 

 

 

Call to Order and Roll Call

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Fain followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.  Township Supervisors in attendance were Richard Fain, Eugene Fried, Mary Gibbs Kershner and Eugene Marks.  Township staff in attendance were Jeffrey Ashman, Fire Marshall, Larry Buck, Road Foreman, Christopher Mowery, Esquire and Stanley Seitzinger, Jr., Township Manager.

 

Citizen Comments

 

Clifford Weber presented comments regarding a fire at the Northgate Subdivision and problems that ensued due to the existing road widths.

 

Joseph Costa presented comments in support of the preservation of the Libor farm located in Upper Hanover Township and Marlborough Township.

 

Citizens presented comments regarding an ordinance under review concerning the keeping of fowl and birds. 

 

Livestrong Challenge

 

Information on the Livestrong Challenge bicycle race scheduled for Sunday, August 24, 2008 was presented.

 

Seedling Planting Program

 

The Board of Supervisors requested that the Parks and Recreation Committee provide input for a fall and and/or spring planting program.

 

Proposed Traffic Studies

 

Manager Seitzinger presented requests received from citizens for possible speed limit traffic studies on Wonzeigler Road and Walt Road.  A proposal from McMahon Associates indicated a price of $2,500.00 for both studies.  The Board of Supervisors requested that proposals be obtained from Gilmore & Associates.  The Township Manager was requested to obtain information on what roads in Upper Hanover Township are not posted for speed limits.

 

Community Coaster Program

 

Mrs. Kershner moved to authorize participation in the Community Coaster Program in the amount of $4000.00 to be included in the 2009 Budget.  The motion was seconded by Mr. Marks and carried affirmatively.

 

Review of August 12, 2008 Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting Agenda

 

The agenda was reviewed.

 

Other

 

Camelot Park Trail

 

The Board of Supervisors decided to leave the trail area located behind the ball fields in a gravel construction as per the original approved site plan.

 

Adjournment

Mrs. Kershner moved to adjourn the meeting to an executive session regarding matters of property negotiation and litigation at 9:37 p.m.  The motion was seconded by Mr. Marks and carried affirmatively.
