UPPER HANOVER TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

WORKSHOP MEETING MINUTES OF OCTOBER 10, 2011

 

 

 

Call to Order and Roll Call

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Fain.  Township Supervisors in attendance were Shannan Bieler, Richard Fain, Ben Fiorito, Eugene Fried and Mary Gibbs Kershner.  Township staff members in attendance were Jeffrey Ashman, Fire Marshal, Edward Skypala, Township Solicitor, Larry Buck, Road Foreman, John Weber, LTL Consultants and Stanley Seitzinger, Jr., Township Manager.

 

Citizen Comments

 

Citizens in attendance did not present comments.

 

Perk-Up Update

 

Michele Fillippo and Luanne Stauffer of the Upper Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce presented an update on the Perk-Up Program.

 

Appointments

 

The Board of Supervisors authorized forwarding interest surveys to the appointments set to expire at the end of 2011.

 

Review of October 11, 2011 BOS Regular Meeting Agenda

 

The agenda was reviewed.

 

Mr. Fiorito reviewed the updated Revenues and Expenditures Compared to Budget Report.

 

Mr. Skypala commented upon a resent news article concerning T.H. Properties and the current bankruptcy status.

 

The Board of Supervisors discussed whether or not to authorize T.H.P. and Haines and Kibblehouse to proceed with the traffic signal construction at Route 663 and Geryville Pike in the fall of 2011.

 

John Weber, Township Engineer provided an update on the status of required maintenance activities at the Fruitville Road Bridge.

 

Mrs. Bieler inquired as to whether the Borough of East Greenville can trim and maintain the vegetation located near the Fruitville Road Bridge.

 

Mr. Skypala presented an update on the filing of a law suit to obtain the Wild Run Road letter of credit payment.

 

2012 Township Budget

 

The proposed 2012 Township Budget was reviewed and discussed.

 

Other

 

Mrs. Bieler and Mrs. Kershner provided an update on the status of the proposed Recycling Ordinance.

 

John Weber provided an update on the status of the punch list work performed at The Shoppes at Upper Hanover.

 

John Weber reported on the status of the Stauffer Road relocation project. The Board of Supervisors agreed that a tentative ribbon cutting ceremony should be scheduled, weather permitting.

 

Adjournment

 

Mrs. Bieler moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:45 p.m. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Kershner and carried unanimously.
