Call to Order and Roll Call
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Eugene Fried followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Township Supervisors in attendance were Dorothy Diehl, Richard Fain, Ben Fiorito, Eugene Fried and Steven Rothenberger. Also in attendance were Edward Skypala, Township Solicitor, Thomas Latshaw, Road Foreman and Stanley Seitzinger, Jr., Township Manager.
Larry Romanowski presented a request to meet with the Township Engineer for the purpose of discussing a pre-sketch concept plan for a development at Kutztown Road and Congo Road as it relates to waivers and fees.
Mill Hill Trail Project
Information was presented regarding planned trail improvements at Mill Hill by candidates for the Eagle Scout Award.
John Haines and Tommy Letwinch from Haines and Kibblehouse and Dean Rittenhouse from TH Properties reported to the Board of Supervisors that they planned to pave Northgate Boulevard on or around October 26, 2016 with the base paving of Northgate Boulevard planned for completion no later than the end of October. The Board of Supervisors authorized LTL Consultants to issue use and occupancy permits for Phase 5A.
It was reported that paving in the area of the future Phase 2B would occur in mid-November.
Mr. Haines reported upon a proposed self-storage facility to be located at Route 663 and Geryville Pike.
Appointments Scheduled to Expire
The Board of Supervisors reviewed the appointments scheduled to expire.
Lighting Repairs at Maintenance Building
Brandon Reed reviewed and discussed recommended lighting system changes at the Upper Hanover Township Maintenance Building. Mr. Rothenberger moved to approve the proposal from RJ Electric in the amount of $3,310.00. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Diehl and carried unanimously.
Mr. Reed reported upon the proposed change of two lighting locations at the maintenance building to LED lighting.
Discussion ensued concerning a possible farmland preservation at the Wentz property in Palm. Mr. Fiorito moved to authorize a 10% local share in the amount of $87,000 in support of the farmland preservation. The motion was seconded by Mr. Rothenberger and carried unanimously.
275th Anniversary Chocolate Bars
The Board of Supervisors authorized selling the remainder of the 275th Anniversary chocolate bars at $1.00 per bar.
Review of October 11, 2016 Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting Agenda
The agenda was reviewed.
Mr. Fain moved to adjourn the meeting to an executive session at 10:00 p.m. The motion was seconded by Mr. Rothenberger and carried unanimously.
