UPPER HANOVER TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

WORKSHOP MEETING MINUTES OF OCTOBER 7, 2019

 

 

 

Call to Order and Roll Call

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Eugene Fried followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.  Township Supervisors in attendance were Dorothy Diehl, Richard Fain, Ben Fiorito, Eugene Fried, and Steve Rothenberger.  Also in attendance were Eric Frye, Township Solicitor and Stanley Seitzinger, Jr., Township Manager.

 

Citizens Comments

 

Michael Cleary inquired on the status of the proposed ordinance concerning firearm projectiles leaving a property.  Manager Seitzinger provided an overview of the proposed ordinance.

 

Gerald W. Dupee and Lisaann Rozecki of 1107 Church Road discussed a proposal to transfer animals and fowl to the adjacent property of Mr. Galanti.  Mr. Galanti was also in attendance and expressed support for the proposal.  The Board of Supervisors explained that it would not be acceptable for animals to move back and forth between the properties.

 

Upper Perkiomen Valley Library – Jeanne Cove and Becky Putera

 

An update concerning library activities was discussed.

 

Appointments Scheduled to Expire

 

The appointments scheduled to expire were reviewed.

 

Hough Associates Recycling Performance Grant Agreement

 

The Board of Supervisors authorized continuing the agreement for a one year term at an annual fixed price of $6,000.00.

 

Montgomery Avenue Crossing Guards

 

Sandra Kassel of the Upper Perkiomen School District reviewed and discussed the proposed crossing guard arrangement with Upper Hanover Township concerning crossing guards in the area of Montgomery Avenue.

 

Mr. Fried moved to approve Upper Hanover Township’s participation with 1/3 of 50% of the cost of the required crossing guards.  The motion was seconded by Mr. Fain and carried unanimously.

 

Electric Agreement

 

Mr. Fiorito provided an overview of the electric agreement indicating that the proposed agreement was for a 36 month term and would result in a 12% rate reduction.

 

Mr. Fiorito moved to approve the agreement with Energy Professionals – Nextery in the kilowatt hour cost of .04798.  The motion was seconded by Mrs. Diehl and carried unanimously.

 

Review of October 8, 2019 Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting Agenda

 

The agenda was reviewed.

 

Adjournment

 

Mr. Rothenberger moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:22 p.m.  The motion was seconded by Mr. Fain and carried unanimously.
