UPPER HANOVER TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

WORKSHOP MEETING MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 7, 2011

 

 

 

Call to Order and Roll Call

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Fain.  Township Supervisors in attendance were Shannan Bieler, Richard Fain, Ben Fiorito, Eugene Fried and Mary Gibbs Kershner.  Township staff members in attendance were Jeffrey Ashman, Fire Marshal, Edward Skypala, Township Solicitor, Larry Buck, Road Foreman, John Weber, Township Engineer and Stanley Seitzinger, Jr., Township Manager.

 

Citizen Comments

 

Bill Fenley stated that a driver had recently attempted to drive on the railroad crossing near Ziegler Road and his vehicle had to be towed from the property.

 

The Parklands

 

Eric Williams reviewed a proposal with the Township Supervisors to offer roadways for dedication in the Parklands Subdivision prior to the completion of the project with an associated extended maintenance period.  It was suggested that one option for consideration would be that the maintenance program could be extended with an evergreen clause.  The Board of Supervisors expressed general concurrence with the proposal and asked that a specific understanding be developed and brought back for further consideration.

 

Appointments Update

 

The Board of Supervisors reviewed the current appointments for consideration in January.

 

2012 Budget

 

The Board of Supervisors reviewed and discussed the proposed 2012 Township Budget.

 

Review of November 8, 2011 BOS Regular Meeting Agenda

 

The agenda was reviewed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Other

 

1. Centennial Park Grant Application

 

The Board of Supervisors reviewed a request from Red Hill Borough for possible participation with a grant application to beautify Centennial Park.  Manager Seitzinger was requested to obtain a further clarification of the nature of the proposed improvements.

 

2. Health Insurance

 

The Board of Supervisors recommended continuing the existing insurance coverage program and that a meeting be established for December 12, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. with representatives of the Delaware Valley Health Insurance Trust and the Merchants Manufacturers & Professionals Multiple Employer Trust (MMPMET).

 

Adjournment

 

Mrs. Kershner moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:25 p.m. to an executive session to review real estate negotiations and current litigation.  The motion was seconded by Mrs. Bieler and carried unanimously.
