Call to Order and Roll Call
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Eugene Fried followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Township Supervisors in attendance were Dorothy Diehl, Ben Fiorito, Eugene Fried, Steven Rothenberger and Timothy Woodward. Also in attendance were Joseph Bresnan, Township Solicitor, Mike Wetzel, Township Fire Marshal, Tom Latshaw, Road Foreman, John Weber, Township Engineer and Stanley Seitzinger, Jr., Township Manager.
Citizens in attendance did not present comments.
Authorization to Advertise Ordinance #2020-01, Electronic Signage Zoning Ordinance Amendment
Manager Seitzinger reported that the Upper Hanover Township Planning Commission recommended adoption of the proposed ordinance. Discussion ensued.
Mrs. Diehl moved to authorization advertisement of proposed Ordinance #2020-01. The motion was seconded by Mr. Rothenberger and carried unanimously.
Burning Ordinance Update
Township Fire Marshal Mike Wetzel and Township Solicitor Joseph Bresnan reviewed and discussed the proposed ordinance update with the Board of Supervisors.
Mr. Fiorito moved to authorize advertisement of the proposed burning ordinance update. The motion was seconded by Mr. Woodward and carried unanimously.
Montgomery County Police Officers Memorial Committee
Mr. Fiorito moved to authorize payment of a $100 donation toward the Montgomery County Police Officers Memorial Committee. The motion was seconded by Mr. Rothenberger and carried unanimously.
Agricultural Security Area Advisory Committee Board of Supervisors Appointment
Mr. Rothenberger moved to appoint Mr. Woodward as the Agricultural Security Area Advisory Committee Board of Supervisors representative. The motion was seconded by Mr. Fried and carried unanimously.
1. The Board of Supervisors authorized forwarding a letter of thanks to Jacqueline
Fiorito along with a gift certificate for her years of service on the Upper Hanover
Township Planning Commission.
2. Palm Tavern
The Board of Supervisors reviewed and discussed the previous request concerning the
installation of a crosswalk on Route 29 in the vicinity of the Palm Tavern. The
Township Manager was requested to contact Mr. Ross to review whether Mr. Ross
may be willing to pay for the cost of the installation, including associated engineering
design and inspection fees.
Review of January 14, 2020 Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting Agenda
The agenda was reviewed.
Municipal Building ADA Improvements
Mr. Rothenberger moved to award the Municipal Building ADA improvements as per the Community Development Block Grant to AK Petersheim Builders in the low bid amount of $118,190.00. The motion was seconded by Mr. Fiorito and carried unanimously.
Camelot Park Bench Shelters
Mrs. Diehl moved to authorize soliciting proposals for the Camelot Park bench shelters including the attachment of chain link fence to the rear of all four shelters. The motion was seconded by Mr. Woodward and carried unanimously.
Maintenance Building Exhaust Fans
Mr. Fried provided an update on the required maintenance for the exhaust fans located at the Township maintenance building.
Allentown Refrigerated Truck Terminal
Mr. Fiorito provided an update on the status.
Mr. Rothenberger moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:40 p.m. The motion was seconded by Mr. Woodward and carried unanimously.
