UPPER HANOVER TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

WORKSHOP MEETING MINUTES OF APRIL 11, 2011

 

 

 

Call to Order and Roll Call

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Fain.  Township Supervisors in attendance were Shannan Bieler, Richard Fain, Ben Fiorito and Eugene Fried.  Township staff members in attendance were Jeffrey Ashman, Fire Marshal, Edward Skypala, Township Solicitor and Stanley Seitzinger, Jr., Township Manager.

 

Citizen Comments

 

Citizens in attendance did not present comments.

 

Soccer Field

 

The Board of Supervisors discussed whether to develop a portion of Macoby Run Park located across Eleventh Street from the main parking lot as an additional soccer field.  A poll of the Township Supervisors in attendance indicated a decision not to proceed further with the proposed soccer field at the Macoby Run Park location.

 

FEMA Floodplain Letters

 

Manager Seitzinger reviewed letters to be forwarded to residents concerning the new FEMA floodplain maps. 

 

U.S. Census and Recycling Program Requirements

 

Manager Seitzinger reported that the most recent U.S. Census update for the 2010 Census indicated that Upper Hanover Township falls within the requirements for instituting a mandatory recycling program.  Discussion ensued concerning the required time for implementation.  Mrs. Bieler indicated that she will confer with the Upper Hanover Township Renewable Energy and Recycling Committee and report back to the Board of Supervisors at the next Workshop Meeting.

 

Park Rental Fees

 

Discussion ensued.  Mrs. Bieler moved to adopt the 2011 Camelot Park Rental Fees Schedule.  The motion was seconded by Mr. Fried and carried affirmatively.

 

Review of April 12, 2011 BOS Regular Meeting Agenda

 

The agenda was reviewed.

 

 

 

Other

 

1.  East Greenville Borough 6th Street Improvement Project

 

Township Engineer Weber reported upon the planned East Greenville Borough 6fh Street Improvement Project and a possible need to coordinate activities with Upper Hanover Township.

 

2.  Fennel Road Bridge

 

Township Engineer Weber reported upon the recent Bridge Inspection Report for the Fennel Road Bridge and indicated that additional repairs and/or replacement may be necessary in the future.  Mr. Weber indicated that the maintenance activities scheduled for the Fennel Road bridge in the current bid were only temporary stop gap measures.

Mr. Fried moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:05 p.m. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Bieler and carried affirmatively.
