UPPER HANOVER TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

WORKSHOP MEETING MINUTES OF MAY 8, 2017

 

 

Call to Order and Roll Call

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Eugene Fried followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Township Supervisors in attendance were Dorothy Diehl, Richard Fain, Ben Fiorito, Eugene Fried and Steven Rothenberger. Also in attendance were Joseph Bresnan, Township Solicitor, John Weber, Township Engineer and Stanley Seitzinger, Jr., Township Manager.

Citizens in attendance did not present comments.

 

Township Building Generator

 

The Board of Supervisors reviewed the proposed specifications for an emergency generator to be located at the Upper Hanover Township Municipal Building as prepared by the office of the Township Engineer. Mr. Fiorito suggested arranging a purchase through the PA COSTARS Program. Manager Seitzinger will conduct further research.

 

Traffic Camera - Route 663/Knight/Kutztown

 

Mr. Rothenberger moved to award a contract to Signal Service Inc. for the installation of a two camera system at Route 663/Knight/Kutztown Roads in the amount of $9,721. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Diehl and carried unanimously.

 

Montgomery County Community Development Block Grant Program 2018 through 2020

 

The Board of Supervisors agreed to continue participation with the Montgomery County Community Development Block Grant Program for a term of 2018 through 2020.

 

Act 172

 

The Board of Supervisors reviewed additional documentation relating to the volunteer incentive program.

 

Review of May 9, 2017 Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting Agenda

 

The agenda was reviewed.

 

 

 

 

 

Township Engineers Report

 

Township Engineer Weber reviewed the status of the Matheson Tri-Gas Project. The only remaining items to be completed prior to the completion of the 18 month maintenance program on June 8, 2017 included the replacement of two trees and one shrub.

 

Mr. Fain moved to authorize calling the project bond if the required work is not completed by June 8, 2017 or if a cash escrow to secure the improvements is not provided. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Diehl and carried unanimously.

 

The Board of Supervisors requested that the Township Engineer follow up with the Parklands Project to direct completion of outstanding improvements by September 1, 2017.

Other business was not presented.

 

Adjournment

 

Mrs. Diehl moved to adjourn the meeting to an executive session concerning a matter of personnel at 8:45 p.m. The motion was seconded by Mr. Fiorito and carried unanimously.
