UPPER HANOVER TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

WORKSHOP MEETING MINUTES OF JUNE 10, 2019

 

 

 

Call to Order and Roll Call

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Eugene Fried followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.  Township Supervisors in attendance were Dorothy Diehl, Eugene Fried, and Ben Fiorito.  Also in attendance were Joseph Bresnan, Township Solicitor, Thomas Latshaw, Road Foreman, John Weber, Township Engineer, and Stanley Seitzinger, Jr., Township Manager.

 

Citizens Comments

 

Sylvan Poeckh presented a request to install a fence on his property at 997 Andrews Lane across a sewer lateral easement.

 

The Board of Supervisors agreed to allow the fence installation subject to the Township review of an Agreement between Mr. Poeckh and the adjacent property owner. It was recommended that gates be installed in order to present greater opportunity for access.

 

Jeanne Cove and Becky Putera, Upper Perkiomen Valley Library

 

Jeanne Cove and Becky Putera of the Upper Perkiomen Valley Library provided an update on current activities and thanked the Board of Supervisors for their continuing support.

 

Woodbridge Lane Block Party

 

Matt Ushler requested that the Board of Supervisors allow the temporary closing of Woodbridge Lane for a summer block party on August 24, 2019 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mr. Ushler presented a petition signed by residents of Woodbridge Lane in support of the block party.

 

The Board of Supervisors authorized the road closing as requested.

 

Fog Seal Proposals

 

Manager Seitzinger reviewed the solicitation of proposals for the fog seal application.  Mr. Fiorito moved to authorize award of the fog seal contract to Asphalt Maintenance Solutions for the completion of fog seal on 20,018 square yards at .92 unit price per square yard in the total amount of $19,336.56. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Diehl and carried affirmatively.

 

 

 

Fuel Island Canopy

 

The matter was tabled for further review.

 

Municipal Building Fire Alarm System

 

The Board of Supervisors requested that the proposal be revised in order to eliminate a motion detector security system from the overall configuration.

 

Resolution #2019-16, Larry Seip Service Recognition Award

 

Mr. Fiorito moved to approve Resolution #2019-16. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Diehl and carried affirmatively.

 

Peevy Road Repairs

 

The Board of Supervisors requested that the Township Manager send a request for reimbursement to Montgomery County for damage incurred on Peevy Road during the Montgomery County reconstruction of the Peevy Road Bridge.

 

Review of June 11, 2019 Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting Agenda

 

The agenda was reviewed.

 

Other

 

1. John Deere Flex Wing Mower

 

Mrs. Diehl moved to award the sale of the John Deere Flex Wing Mower to John Neilson in the amount of $6,000 through the Municibid Program. The motion was seconded by Mr. Fiorito and carried affirmatively.

 

Adjournment

 

Mrs. Diehl moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:02 p.m.  The motion was seconded by Mr. Fiorito  and carried affirmatively.
