Call to Order and Roll Call
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Eugene Fried. Township Supervisors in attendance were Richard Fain, Ben Fiorito, Eugene Fried and Steven Rothenberger. Also in attendance were Edward Skypala, Township Solicitor, John Weber, Township Engineer, Thomas Latshaw, Road Foreman and Stanley Seitzinger, Jr., Township Manager.
Citizens in attendance did not present comments.
Township 275th Anniversary Logo Wood Carvings
The Board of Supervisors viewed 275th Anniversary logo wood carvings provided by Joe Myers of DB Woodworking.
Soffa Road Open Space Area – Request for Easement
Augustus Meinzer and Paula Meinzer discussed a request for a right of way from Upper Hanover Township to cross the Soffa Road Open Space Area to the existing Meinzer property.
Township Solicitor Skypala reported that the Soffa Road Open Space Area was acquired using Montgomery County open space funds and that such a right of way would most likely not be allowed by Montgomery County.
Discussion ensued. It was recommended that the Meinzers confer directly with Montgomery County officials concerning the request.
2017 Relay for Life – June 3, 2017
The Board of Supervisors expressed agreement to allow a June 3, 2017 Relay for Life event at Camelot Park.
Love Upper Perk Advisory Council
The Board of Supervisors discussed an appointment to the advisory council. No action was taken.
275th Anniversary History Book Orders
Manager Seitzinger provided an update on the status of the 275th Anniversary History Books. The Board of Supervisors agreed to donate one hardbound and one paperback copy to the Upper Perkiomen Valley Library and the Schwenkfelder Library and Museum.
Newman Circle Paper Streets
Discussion ensued concerning the deeds for the affected properties. Mr. Skypala will conduct additional research to determine the appropriate action that may be needed.
Zoning Ordinance Amendments
Township Engineer Weber presented proposed Zoning Ordinance Amendments as recommended for adoption by the Upper Hanover Township Planning Commission.
Mr. Rothenberger moved to authorize advertisement of the Zoning Ordinance Amendments subject to the approval of the current draft by Township Solicitor Skypala and the receipt of a review from the Montgomery County Planning Commission. The motion was seconded by Mr. Fain and carried affirmatively.
Brooke Road Culvert Project
Mr. Fiorito moved to approve the final Brooke Road Culvert Project payment to Wexcon, Inc. in the amount of $10,037.51. The motion was seconded by Mr. Rothenberger and carried affirmatively.
Mr. Seitzinger reported upon the 275th Township Anniversary display in place at the Schwenkfelder Library and Museum.
Mr. Fain inquired concerning the needed ADA curb replacement at the Township Municipal Building. John Weber reported that he is preparing a list of planned improvements based upon the recent ADA review.
Review of June 14, 2016 Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting Agenda
The agenda was reviewed.
Township Engineer Weber reported that the developer for the Parkland Subdivision is completing final concrete work and is starting work on required offsite improvements.
Mr. Fain moved to adjourn the meeting to an Executive Session at 9:02 p.m. The motion was seconded by Mr. Fiorito and carried affirmatively.
