UPPER HANOVER TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

WORKSHOP MEETING MINUTES OF JULY 13, 2009

 

 

Call to Order and Roll Call

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Richard Fain.  Township Supervisors in attendance were Shannan Bieler, Richard Fain, Eugene Fried, Mary Gibbs Kershner and Eugene Marks. Township staff members in attendance were Sean DeLong, Zoning Officer, Jeffrey Ashman, Fire Marshal, Larry Buck, Road Foreman, Edward Skypala, Township Solicitor and Stanley Seitzinger, Jr., Township Manager.

 

Citizen Comments

 

Citizens in attendance did not present comments.

 

Knoll, Inc. Land Development Plan

 

The matter was tabled for review at a future meeting.

 

Veterans Memorial – Camelot Park

 

Discussion ensued regarding the future location of the World War I and World War II Veterans Memorial at Camelot Park.  Mrs. Kershner moved to approve a location for the monument identified as alternate “A” at the right side of the main entrance.  The motion was seconded by Mrs. Bieler and carried unanimously.

 

Upper Perk Girls Softball League

 

Ralph Quinn, President of the Upper Perk Girls Softball League presented a proposal for maintenance of the Camelot Park baseball/softball fields through the Upper Perk Girls Softball League.  Mr. Quinn reviewed the spring season and fall season activities of the league.  Mr. Quinn indicated that the league will install bases and associated items. 

 

Discussion ensued regarding scheduling at the field.  Mrs. Kershner moved to authorize the Upper Perk Girls Softball League to make use of the Camelot Park baseball fields for two days per week in 2010 with the Upper Perk Girls Softball League to conduct ongoing maintenance activities on the fields.  The motion was seconded by Mr. Fried and carried unanimously. 

 

Codification – Notice of Introduction of Proposed Code Adoption Ordinance

 

Township Manager Seitzinger presented the Notice of Introduction of Proposed Code Adoption Ordinance for the Township Code of Ordinances.

 

Mrs. Kershner moved to authorize advertisement of the codification.  The motion was seconded by Mrs. Bieler and carried unanimously.

 

Camelot Park Dedication

 

An update on the current status of the plans for the Camelot Park Dedication was presented.

 

Review of July 14, 2009 BOS Regular Meeting Agenda

 

The agenda was reviewed.

 

Other

 

A.  Camelot Park Site Plan

 

Mr. Fried reported upon the status of the Camelot Park site plan under preparation by Horizon Engineers.  Discussion ensued regarding the possibility of making use of the administration building pad site for further recreation amenities.

 

B.  Gene Road Drainage

 

The Board of Supervisors discussed the drainage problem at the Rementer property on Gene Road.  The Board of Supervisors recommended against conducting work on private property and suggested that any improvements be limited to cleaning out the ditch area in the public right-of-way.

 

C.  Northgate

 

Mr. Marks discussed the punch list provided by Gilmore and Associates on the Northgate project. 

 

D.  Police Services

 

The Board of Supervisors discussed ongoing negotiations with the Upper Perk Police Department.

 

Adjournment

 

Mrs. Bieler moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:15 p.m. The motion was seconded by Mr. Marks and carried unanimously.
