UPPER HANOVER TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

WORKSHOP MEETING MINUTES OF AUGUST 13, 2018

 

 

Call to Order and Roll Call

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Eugene Fried followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Township Supervisors in attendance were Dorothy Diehl, Ben Fiorito, Richard Fain, Eugene Fried and Steve Rothenberger. Also in attendance were Joseph Bresnan, Township Solicitor, Thomas Latshaw, Road Foreman and Stanley Seitzinger, Jr., Township Manager.

 

Citizen Comments

 

John Lorenzo presented comments concerning a recent vehicle accident on Route 663.

 

Douglas Crossin of George Road expressed concerns about stormwater runoff at the proposed location of the 2030 Corning Road Subdivision.

 

Donald Crossin of Kraussdale Road expressed concern about a telephone pole located at the end of his property and speeding in the area. Donald Crossin commented upon Township enforcement activities relating to his property.

 

Boiler and Emergency Generator Replacement Consulting Engineering Services Systems Design Engineering Inc.

 

Stephen Gribb of Systems Design Engineering, Inc. reviewed and discussed a proposal for services to Upper Hanover Township relating to the installation of a new heater system and emergency generator system at the Township Municipal Building.

 

Mr. Fain moved to approve the Agreement for the services as noted. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Diehl and carried unanimously.

 

Discussion ensued regarding duct cleaning options at the Township Municipal Building.

 

Sewer Clean-Outs The Woodlands - Reserve at Macoby Run

 

Mr. Fiorito explained an ongoing matter relating to the required relocation of sewer cleanouts at The Woodlands Subdivision.

 

Utility Truck Co-Stars Bids

 

The item was tabled for further review.

 

 

 

 

 

Relay for Life

 

The Board of Supervisors approved the scheduling of the 2019 Relay for Life Program at Camelot Park for May 18, 2019 from 9a.m. to 11p.m. with setup on May 17 afternoon and with the cleanup for the program completed as of 12 noon on May 19, 2019.

 

Jefferson Street/ May Day Properties Sewer Agreement and Indemnification

 

The Board of Supervisors agreed that the Township Solicitor can coordinate the Agreement between the property owner and UMJA with a sentence included regarding the Townships indemnification obligations.

 

Litka/Mistic 537 Escrow

 

The Board of Supervisors reviewed and discussed a request for refund of a previously established 537 Escrow for the Litka/Mistic property located at 2106 Ridge Way.

 

The Board of Supervisors authorized a refund of $48.00.

 

2019 Township Budget

 

Finance committee Chairman Ben Fiorito proposed consideration of a real estate tax decrease of .25 mills for the 2019 budget. Discussion ensued.

 

Camelot Farms Lease with Mr. Niehls

 

Discussion ensued concerning the need for a new access to the farmland rented by Mr. Niehls.

Review of August 14, 2018 Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting Agenda

 

The agenda was reviewed.

 

Adjournment

 

Mr. Rothenebrger moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:35 p.m. The motion was seconded by Mr. Fain and carried unanimously.
