UPPER HANOVER TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

WORKSHOP MEETING MINUTES OF AUGUST 7, 2017

 

 

Call to Order and Roll Call

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Eugene Fried followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Township Supervisors in attendance were Dorothy Diehl, Ben Fiorito, Eugene Fried and Steven Rothenberger. Also in attendance were Thomas Latshaw, Road Foreman, John Dooley, Esquire and Stanley Seitzinger, Jr., Township Manager.

 

Citizen Comments

 

Andrew Lechman presented concerns about speeding on Eleventh Street. Chairman Fried reported that he had reviewed the speed radar unit data for the location and will discuss additional enforcement options with the Pennsylvania State Police.

 

MS4 Program

 

Linda Cluck, P.E. from LTL Consultants reviewed and discussed the MS4 Program.

 

Christmas Ball Decorating Contest

 

Mrs. Diehl agreed to participate as a judge for the program.

 

The Oktoberfest Ride

 

The Board of Supervisors approved the use of local roads for the planned bike ride.

 

Act 172 Volunteer Incentives Program

 

The Board of Supervisors discussed the program and agreed to a general consensus to provide an earned income tax credit in the maximum amount of $250.

 

Upper Perkiomen Valley Garden Club Macoby Run Park Community Garden

 

Scott Roth presented additional information on the proposed community garden at Macoby Run Park. Mr. Weber indicated that the project would have to be set 75 feet back from the roadway and that an additional pipe crossing would be required. Manager Seitzinger suggested the further installation of a crosswalk and associated signs on Eleventh Street. Mr. Roth indicated that he can review fund raising in order to pay for the costs of a deer fence. The Board of Supervisors indicated they would like to hear on any comments from the Reserve at Macoby Run Homeowners Association prior to approval.

 

 

 

 

 

Camelot Park Concession Stand

 

Seeking grant funding for the proposed concession stand at Camelot Park was discussed. Chairman Fried will meet on site with the Township Engineer to review project options.

 

Township Building Emergency Generator

 

Discussion ensued. Further study will be required.

 

Review of August 8, 2017 Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting Agenda

 

The agenda was reviewed.

 

Adjournment

 

Mr. Rothenberger moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:29 p.m. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Diehl and carried affirmatively.
