UPPER HANOVER TOWNSHIP PLANNING COMMISSION

REGULAR MEETING MINUTES OF May 2, 2018

 

 

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Jacqueline Fiorito followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

 

Roll Call

 

Planning Commission members in attendance were Alex Anastas, Richard Fain, Jacqueline Fiorito, Stefan Laessig and Brandon Reed. Also in attendance were John Weber, Township Engineer and Stan Seitzinger, Jr., Township Manager.

 

Citizen Comments

 

Marcia Roshon of East Buck Road presented comments concerning recent tree damage during wind storms. Mrs. Roshon recommended that the Planning Commission take into consideration the removal and replacement of trees during the subdivision process. Mr. Fain stated that the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance includes such requirements.

 

Approval of Minutes

 

Mr. Laessig moved to approve the April 4, 2018 Planning Commission Regular Meeting Minutes. The motion was seconded by Mr. Anastas. The motion carried unanimously.

 

Announcements

 

Mrs. Fiorito announced that May 16, 2018 is the last date for submission of plans for review by the Township Engineer and discussion at the June 6, 2018 regular meeting.

There were not any plans scheduled for discussion.

 

Current Plans Without New Activity

 

Current plans without new activity were reviewed.

 

New Business

 

Mr. Reed reported upon a discussion at the recent Regional Planning Commission meeting concerning renewable energy requirements in zoning ordinances relating to solar, wind, geothermal and outdoor furnace uses. The Planning Commission recommended that the Board of Supervisors consider whether or not there is an interest in proceeding with development of such an ordinance for Upper Hanover Township.

A. Zoning

 

1. Ricardo M. Solis Conditional Use Hearing May 8, 2018

 

Discussion ensued. A recommendation was not presented.

 

2. Upper Perkiomen School District Zoning Hearing May 16, 2018

 

Discussion ensued with representatives of the school district concerning a variance request scheduled for a zoning hearing on May 16, 2018. The Planning Commission did not provide a recommendation.

 

B. Building Permit Report and Escrow Report

 

The monthly reports were entered into the record.

 

C. Regional Planning Commission Report

 

Mr. Reed provided an update.

Mr. Fain moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:57 p.m. The motion was seconded by Mr. Anastas and carried unanimously.
