The Upper Hanover Authority was first established by the
Township Board of Supervisors as the Upper Hanover Sewer Authority in October
of 1971. After acquisition of the Pennsburg
Water Company in July of 1973, the name was changed to The Upper Hanover
Authority. The Authority Board consists
of 5 members appointed by the Township Supervisors for 5 year terms. The responsibilities of the Authority are to
ensure sufficient water supply for fire protection as well as ample and safe
drinking water to its customers located in
Upper
Hanover
Township
,
Pennsburg Borough and
Hereford
Township
.
Currently our water sources are provided by way of 4 wells
and an interconnection to Red Hill Water Authority which maintains a spring fed
reservoir as well as 2 wells.
The Authority also maintains 2 wastewater treatment plants
serving industrial and residential customers in
Upper
Hanover
Township
.
