Macoby Run Park Improvements

Please be patient with us as we begin construction of Park Improvements for Macoby Run Park. During all phases of improvements, sections of the walking trail and parking lot will be closed.  During the first phase of improvements, access to the playground will be from the field side only.
Improvements are scheduled to begin immediately and will continue through April 2025.    The three main phases of improvement are:
Phase I
  • Pickleball Court Construction
  • Construction materials designed for sound absorption
  • 6 north-facing courts parallel to the walking trail.
  • Six 6' Conifer Trees are to be planted to supplement the existing berm and/or buffer at the ends of the court
  • Gated and locked entrance with programmable locks to regulate hours of play.
Note:   The Township has received a few concerns from adjacent property owners regarding noise from the courts.   Once the courts are up and operational, the Township will assess the noise and use of the courts and determine if additional measures are warranted.   The Park and Recreation Committee is currently researching "Pickle Block" and similar sound absorption curtain systems.

Phase II
  • Walking path repairs
  • Repairs, including repaving of walking trails, will follow the completion of construction as schedule permits.  This work may be done in phases before and after Phase II Improvements or may be deferred until the conclusion of Phase III.
Phase III
  • Macoby Creek Streambank Restoration Project
  • Heavily eroded areas of stream to be repaired & live stake greenway buffer planted.  Work is to be scheduled between October and April of 2025.  Access to the creek will be from St. Pauls Church Road.
Phase IV
  • Construction of a rain garden
